SEN Teacher, Full Time, Permanent

Salary: UPS/MPS scale, SEN allowance 1


Discovery MAT is looking for a qualified, imaginative and driven SEN teacher to help start up and grow our new alternative provision, the Edison Centre. You will work to reintegrate children back into mainstream education by providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment to meet a range of needs, including SEMH.  


The successful candidate will:

  • be an outstanding, talented and experienced teacher;
  • demonstrate specialist knowledge and experience of working with children who have a high level of need;
  • be committed to their own professional development ;
  • be enthusiastic and committed to ensuring the provision’s future success as part of Discovery MAT.
  • have, or be willing to work towards, the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination.


The Edison Centre is part of Discovery MAT, a Multi Academy Trust consisting of three primary academies across the Plymouth area: Oakwood Primary Academy, Beechwood Primary Academy and Weston Mill Community Primary Academy. We aim to provide a caring and supportive learning environment, and our staff are committed to securing the best outcomes for all our children.
